Why this price
An accountant typically charges $200–$400 per hour to review and correct your adjusted cost base, and that assumes you can hand them clean records to start. ActiveACB does the work in seconds, produces a filing-ready report, and gives you the detail to verify every number yourself.
If the CRA reassesses a return where you filed using the T5008 Box 20 figure instead of the correct ACB, you pay the tax owing plus arrears interest (currently 9% per year). A single reassessment on one position will cost more than a decade of ActiveACB seasons.
Frequently asked questions
Can I run multiple calculations?
Yes. Season access gives you unlimited calculations for the duration of the tax season. You can re-run with corrected files, add a second brokerage account, or recalculate a different tax year at no extra cost. Your 25 most recent calculations are stored in your history for re-download.
Is this a subscription?
No. Season access is a one-time payment. It does not auto-renew. When the next tax season opens, you would purchase again if you want to use the tool that year.
What if I need to amend my return after filing?
As long as your season access is still active, re-run the calculation with any corrections and download a new report. If your access has expired, contact support and we will work something out.
What is not covered?
Cryptocurrency, non-calendar fiscal years, U.S. wash-sale rules, and ETF return-of-capital distribution adjustments (not yet automated). A full list is at activeacb.ca/methodology.
